Iron Removal System | Filtration Systems

How It Works

Water can contain iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide. Soluble iron and manganese oxidize and precipitate when coming into contact with higher manganese oxides from the proprietary blend of oxidation media for this system. Hydrogen sulfide is then oxidized into an insoluble sulfur precipitate.

The precipitate is then filtered, retained, and removed by vigorous back-washing. Once the oxidizing capacity is exhausted, the system will have to be regenerated and sparged with ambient air—making it environment friendly.

This System Includes:

Filtration Media

This media is formulated using a lightweight and synthetic granular core that is coated with manganese dioxide. It also includes food-grade and FDA-approved gravel underbedding to ensure uniform flow and consistent performance. The filtration system acts through physical filtration and oxidation.

Controller/Meter

System regeneration is done through a simplified control timer that electronically meters water flow and initiates regenerations based on water consumption and other program settings

Regeneration Systems

The iron filters are controlled by a fully programmable microprocessor that can initiate Upflow Ambient Air Injection, Slow Rinse, Backwash, Rapid Rinse, Tank Fill, and Return-to-Service cycles.

Control Valve

All waterway parts are coated with brass or composite Noryl® materials to ensure that the hydraulically balanced piston slides easily through seals and spacers. This design ensures that the system serves you reliably for a long time to come.

Media Tank

All models feature non-corrosive fiberglass tanks with inner thermoplastic liners. Maximum working pressure can reach 90 psi, and maximum working temperatures can reach up to 120°F. The tank meets WQA Standard S-100 and is approved by the NSF, UL, and FDA. These fiberglass tanks carry a limited lifetime warranty.

Benefits

Ultraviolet Disinfection

Water declared safe can contain bacteria, mold, fungi, and viruses that simply fall below federally set limits. If you would like to ensure that your home has high-quality water, you can add an Ultraviolet System to your home filtration or softening system. This would help eliminate contaminants that contribute to poor-tasting water, bad-smelling water, and the like.

Our disinfection systems are affordable, reliable, and easy to maintain. It also doesn’t have the same underperformance issues associated with many other ultraviolet disinfection systems on the market.

How It Works

Ultraviolet disinfection is a chemical-free process that is simple yet effective at inactivating microorganisms present in water. This straightforward system requires simple maintenance to ensure continuous disinfection and safe water.

It comes with a standard, high-power lamp that energizes water and addresses even the toughest biological contaminants. Regardless of high performance capabilities, the system has low electrical consumption and only operates on an average of 50 watts during operation.

All system models also come with a self-contained computer controller that will inform you of how the lamp is performing and when it needs to be replaced. You can also opt to get expansion packs that enable you to connect the controller to ethernet, solenoids, and 4-20 mA automation systems.

Ultrafiltration

Ultrafiltration technology is the final filter against suspended solids and organic water contaminants such as high molecular weight tannins, bacteria, mold, viruses, and fungi. The Crusader Water CS-UF-01 can provide 0.02 micron filtration at service flow rates reaching 12gpm. It can feed an atmospheric or pressurized storage tank and operate with up to four other modules simultaneously, ensuring sufficient service flow.

This model features the Enpress patented and industry-exclusive liner design with an internal UF module that addresses colloids, bacteria, cysts, viruses, turbidity, tannins, and other particles. Due to its high surface area, ultrafiltration bundles need normal line pressure to operate and maintain low pressure drop. The membrane array is NSF 612-certified, and the system is BioVir-certified and -tested for log reduction.

How It Works

The system is fully automatic with an injection system for cleaning and disinfecting the ultrafiltration fibers inside the tank. The computerized control is programmed by the local supplier to ensure backwashing, forward flushing, and disinfecting at appropriate intervals. A manual flush valve is located at the bottom of the tank, enabling manual purging and other advanced operations.

This model can be used for water reclamation systems or final polishing. It also offers fail-safe protection for power outages and intermittent power situations.

Arsenic Removal

Arsenic is an abundant and naturally occurring element that can be found at varying concentrations in the Earth’s outer crust. While organic arsenic compounds are generally less harmful to one’s health, inorganic compounds in water can be highly toxic.

Arsenic cannot be destroyed, and it can only change its form. Most organic and inorganic compounds are white or colorless powders that do not evaporate. Instead, they attach to airborne particles. If the particles are small enough, they can stay suspended in air currents for days and travel thousands of miles.

When these particles hit the ground due to gravity or precipitation, they can dissolve in bodies of water, including groundwater. The primarily recognized cause of unintentional arsenic consumption is from drinking groundwater containing arsenic. While surveys of drinking water in the US show that around 80% of water supplies have less than 2 ppb of arsenic, 2% of supplies carry arsenic that exceed 20 ppb.

Even at low levels, arsenic consumption and chronic exposure have been linked to diabetes, DNA damage, oxidative stress, and different kinds of cancers. On the other hand, large amounts of arsenic in the body can lead to gastroenteritis, paralysis, neuropathy, and arsenic poisoning that can cause death from circulatory failure.
